Terms of Service and legal information
Version of 4 October 2026
1. Terms of Service
These terms are an offer by {{seller}} (the “Provider”) to any person with legal capacity (the “User”). Paying for a plan or a minute pack means accepting these terms in full.
Payments in euros are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, which acts as the reseller and Merchant of Record for these orders and applies its own terms of sale (paddle.com/legal) together with these terms.
1.1. Definitions
- Service — the Sinkrona AI app for Windows, the Sinkrona AI app for Android (beta) and the sinkrona.app server through which they recognise, translate and voice speech during calls, conversations and playback of sound from other apps (video, lectures, recordings).
- Access code — a personal code like li-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx that unlocks the User's translation minutes.
- Translation minute — a minute of a call or playback with translation on in at least one direction, in “Subtitles” mode (the other person's speech is translated as text on screen). In “Voice” mode (the other person's speech is translated aloud; “Voice everyone” in the Android app) a minute of the call uses two translation minutes; “Voice me only” and “Text only” in the Android app count like “Subtitles”. The User's own speech is voiced in both modes and isn't counted separately. Both directions of a call count once. When both sides are silent for over two minutes, the time isn't counted. When sound from another app is translated, time is counted by the same rules while the translation runs.
- Plan — a monthly subscription with the stated number of minutes.
- Pack — extra minutes valid for the stated period.
1.2. Plans, minutes and payment
- Plans and packs, with their prices, are listed on the website at the time of payment. Minutes are stated for “Subtitles” mode; in “Voice” mode the same minutes last half as long. The mode can be switched during a call; minutes are counted by the mode at each moment.
- A plan's monthly periods count from the plan's start date. On renewal a month is added to the paid time, so paying early shortens nothing. Unused time of a monthly period doesn't roll over to the next period.
- If you change plans while the old one is paid, the new plan starts at once and the unused rest of the current month is kept and stays valid until the end of the paid time.
- A pack can only be bought while a plan is active and is used while the plan is paid. Plan time is used first, then packs, the earliest-expiring first. A pack is valid for 12 months from payment; if the plan has ended, the pack waits for its renewal.
- Plans paid in euros renew automatically every month until cancelled. Plans paid in roubles (YooKassa) do not renew automatically.
- A pack can only be bought while a plan is active, for an existing access code.
- The access code is shown after payment and sent to the email given at checkout.
1.3. Requirements and trial
The Service needs a Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) or Windows 11 computer, a headset, the free VB-Cable virtual audio cable and an internet connection; the Android app needs a phone with Android 10 or later and an internet connection. The Android app is provided as a beta and its features may change. On first start the app may issue a free trial code — {{trialEn}}, one per computer.
1.4. Acceptable use
- Keep your access code private; you are responsible for use of the Service under your code.
- Tell the other participants that an AI is interpreting the call where law or custom requires it.
- Clone another person's voice only with their explicit consent.
- Do not use the Service unlawfully, infringe others' rights, try to bypass minute metering, or reverse-engineer or tamper with the app or server.
- You are responsible for the lawful use of the Service to translate sound from videos, lectures, recordings and other content, including respect for copyright and the source's terms.
1.5. Quality and liability
- Translation is automatic and uses third-party speech recognition, translation and voice services. Recognition and translation errors, delays and interruptions can happen. Check the translation before relying on it for legal, medical or other important decisions.
- The Service is provided “as is”. The Provider makes reasonable efforts to keep it running but is not liable for outages of third-party services, internet providers or call apps.
- To the extent permitted by law, the Provider's liability is limited to the amount the User paid for the last paid period.
- The Provider may suspend an access code that breaks section 1.4, notifying the User by email.
1.6. Changes
The Provider may change these terms and prices by publishing a new version on the website. New terms apply to payments made after publication; periods and packs already paid keep their terms.
2. Cancellation and refunds
- You can cancel a euro subscription at any time; it stops renewing from the next period and the month already paid stays active.
- Euro payments: you may request a refund within 14 days of a payment. Refunds are issued by Paddle in line with its refund policy; write to {{email}} or contact Paddle support.
- Rouble payments: the price of unused minutes of the paid period or pack is refunded pro rata, to the original payment method, within 10 business days of the request.
- Trial minutes are free and are not refunded.
3. Privacy policy
The data controller is the Provider. This policy follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Russian Federal Law 152-FZ.
3.1. What we process and why
- Email — to send your access code, receipts and replies (performance of contract).
- Messages from the website form — your name (if given), email and message, the website language and a hash of the IP address, to tell people from bulk submissions. Kept for 12 months and used only to reply (legitimate interest; contract).
- Access code — the server keeps only its SHA-256 hash, never the code itself.
- Minutes used, orders and payments — amount, date, payment method and the YooKassa or Paddle payment id (contract, legal obligations). We never receive card details.
- Trial — a hash of the computer id and a hash of the IP address, to issue one trial per computer (legitimate interest).
- Speech and text during a call — passed through the server for recognition, translation and voicing; the server neither records nor stores them.
- Voice clone — if you create one in the app, the voice sample is kept with the third-party voice provider until you ask to delete it.
- Website visitor's IP address — used to find the country, to show the website in the right language with prices in the right currency (legitimate interest). The lookup runs on our server with the DB-IP database; the address is neither passed on nor stored.
- Transcripts, call logs and settings stay on your computer only.
3.2. Processors
Third-party speech recognition, translation and voice providers (USA, EU) for translation during calls; YooKassa and Paddle for payments; an email provider for messages; Telegram, which delivers the text of a website form message to the Provider's private chat through the bot. Transfers outside the EU rely on the processors' standard contractual clauses. The Service's server is in France.
3.3. Retention and your rights
Order and payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires; other data while your access code is active and 12 months after your minutes end. You can access, correct, export or delete your data and object to processing by writing to {{email}}; we reply within 30 days. You may also complain to your data protection authority. The website sets no advertising or analytics cookies; the page language is remembered in your browser only.
